What is Guardianship?

A Guardianship is a partnership with our Breeding Program where a thoughtfully approved individual or family are given a puppy/adult dog to care for on the breeder's behalf. Being a Guardian means you become the primary care giver for the dog while the breeder retains ownership and all breeding rights. The Guardian is responsible for the dog's care, well-being, non-breeding related veterinary care and training. Once the dog's breeding has been fulfilled the ownership is signed over to the Guardian. This program allows for us, the breeder, to keep a diverse selection for healthy breeding options, provide families with a Golden Retriever at no upfront cost and lastly it doesn't compromise our dogs chance of having their own loving family to be a part of.

There is a formal contract (See link at bottom of the page) that must be followed and carefully considered before agreeing to be a Guardian.
