A Guardianship is a partnership with our Breeding Program where a thoughtfully approved individual or family are given a puppy/adult dog to care for on the breeder's behalf. Being a Guardian means you become the primary care giver for the dog while the breeder retains ownership and all breeding rights. The Guardian is responsible for the Guardian Dog's care, well-being, non-breeding related veterinary care and training. The Breeder is responsible for education, training assistance/guidance, all breeding related veterinary care, and spaying/neutering the Guardian Dog once the dog's breeding has been fulfilled. Once the Guardian Dog is spayed/neutered, the ownership of the Guardian Dog is signed over to the Guardian.
This program allows for us, the Breeder, to keep a diverse selection for healthy breeding options, provide families with a Golden Retriever at no upfront cost and lastly it doesn't compromise our dog's chance of having their own loving family to be a part of.
There is a formal contract (See link at bottom of the page) that must be followed by ALL members of the home and carefully considered before agreeing to be a Guardian.
If you're interested in becoming a Guardian, please thoroughly read through our guardianship contract, fill out and submit the New Puppy Application and Guardian Questionnaire. Once we receive the application, we will begin to review it and contact you within 3-5 days regarding any questions, concerns and our next steps including a home visit if approved.
Please download and complete the Application, then submit your application using the submission above.
